Children who grow up in more rural places will have a better resistance to allergies because of protective skin bacteria. Being around these open spaces allows for more exposure to bacteria and pathogens at a young age, which in turn could make you healthier in the long run. It could be another reason to build more parks within cities. Today, urban areas are lacking in a variety of natural environment, therefore, people are not being exposed to as much of a variety of the natural world as they would in rural areas. Growing up in these more 'natural' places allows for a build up of immune system and allows for a better and healthier life. City dwellers may find themselves breathing in more chemicals, and are more susceptible to allergy.
