Dermatologist and stylists agree that there's little reasoning to shampoo every day. The longer, thicker, curlier and more processed the hair is the longer it can go between washes. Doctor Heather Woolery-Lloyd explains that oils from the scalp don't travel as quickly, so hair tends to be dry. Therefore, the hair requires less frequent shampooing. Even short, thin, unprocessed hair can go a day without shampooing without any major concerns. If a person finds it necessary to shampoo daily for the fragrance, stylists and dermatologists recommend using lighter shampoos that are labeled for everyday use. Shampoo's bubbles, which people often associate with cleanness, are actually created by the harshest ingredients, sulfates, and are not even necessary for cleansing the scalp. Experts say these foaming agents, which dehydrate the hair, are only in cleansing products because consumers expect bubbles.http://www.webmd.com/healthy-beauty/features/how-often-wash-hair?page=2
