Dinosaurs’ digestive gases linked to global warming

At a time when we are deliberating the repercussions of the emission of methane (from cow flatulence) as a key contributor to global warming, British researchers reported that methane emissions from Sauropods and other dinosaurs have contributed to global warming tens of millions years ago. According to the Current Biology journal, the methane emissions emanated from dinosaurs produced about as much as the cumulative of contemporary natural and man-made emissions of greenhouse gasses. Scientists are utterly convinced that owing to the fact that the Sauropods hosted a diverse community of microbes to digest and  in turn, produced more than 572 million tons of methane per year – more than five times as much methane as modern-day cattle and other ruminants.
