This study was conducted in Europe and published in the journal of clinical oncology and it states that women are less likely to die from melanoma than men. There were more than 2,600 participants that were followed for 12 years of which 366 men died and 267 women. They explained the reason this happens is simply due to the biological differences between the sexes. As well as, when they measured the thickness of the tumors, women still had an advantage over men. There was no specific reasoning as to why women are less likely to die from this disease.
