Can Blood Test Predict Breast Cancer Risk?
British
scientists analyzed blood samples from 640 breast cancer patients and 741 women
without breast cancer. The objective was to find out if a single gene
alteration could predict a woman’s risk of breast cancer. The process is called
methylation which targeted a key gene of DNA called ARM. Methylation is a
chemical from a methyl group added to the DNA, and a high levels of methylation
signal high levels of DNA trouble and risk of breast cancer.
