This article talks about how low levels of connexin 43. This protein is linked to help geriatrics with their urinating problem at night, which can badly interfere with their sleeping habits. The protein tricks the bladder into believing that it’s full. The smooth muscles in the bladder become very sensitive at night causing nerve signals that give a person an urge to urinate. This same protein causes bedwetting with young children. The problem could also be occurring in an impairment of the cortex in the brain.
