As the semester
draws to a conclusion and we all head towards our respective homes for three
months of festivities and consumption of home-cooked food, studies indicate
that spicy food augments one’s metabolism rates, particularly when it comes to
insulin and triglyceride levels. It was conferred that a minute addition of a combination
of a myriad of spices such as turmeric, cinnamon and paprika could be
imperative in reducing oxidative stress and thus reducing the risk of chronic
disease. Suddenly Indian food doesn’t seem that spicy now, does it? ;)
