According to a new study, it found that similar kidney survival, rejection and infection rates in people who do a repeated procedure on the same kidney ("re-transplants") compared to patients who had just one. They found no differences in the rate of bacterial or viral infections. The message of this article is that kidney specialists can feel comfortable referring patients with failed transplants for a second transplant evaluation.
