Adult Brains Learning Mechanism

In new research at the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience, the adult brain is surprisingly able to adapt to new situations. One is their ability to learn, which is most prominent in our youth as new synapses are forming constantly. Adults are able to learn not because new synapses form, but because synapses that inhibit learning disappear. This can offer to hope to certain disabilities that prevent the forming of new synapses.
