Mathematics and Cervical Cancer

Cervical cancer is currently devastating, but may be identified earlier based on a new mathematical model developed in the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center. This model uses information from an MRI scan to monitor changes in tumor size in order to determine if a patient is responding to treatment. The model has a 90% correct prediction rate and far outstrips today's technology of estimating by touch.
