Breakthrough in MRI technology

MIT neuroscientists have designed a new MRI sensor. This sensor respons to dopamine, a neurotransmitter. This is an achievement that may significantly improve our MRI system, giving us more accurate imaging and data of future brain imaging procedures. Today, our MRI's sense blood flow which is a roundabout way to getting neural data. But if MRI's were to map a specific neural chemical, we would be able to directly map the brain rapidly and efficiently,  providing us with precise measurement of brain activity.
