Defects in Cholesterol synthesis results in a variety of symptons.This article says that Cholesterol is a key component of cell membrane and lipids rafts and the precursor of asteroids, bali acids, and vitamin D, but some alterations on its synthesis unleash growth delay abnormal morphogenecis and spychomothor disabilities.

Genetic Testing

After talking about genetic testing in class, I found this short article pretty interesting.  We were debating if genetic testing is ethical and now convenient stores are willing to sell them.  Whether it is ethical or not in your own opinion, it is pretty interesting how easy it is to see if you possess a certain gene relating to an unfortunate disease.

Religion in America

I found this Youtube video circulating on YouTube and Facebook and it reminded me of our debates in class. A lot of the topics we talk about seem to come down to science vs. religion, even though I know we try to adhere to NOMA. I thought this was an interesting video due to the general content and also their push for scientific evidence. Though most views were argued to be "liberal" based, I still think it's a good video to show that even though one may be religious, it doesn't mean that you are completely close-minded to other viewpoints. I feel the take away of the video and from a lot of our debates in class is to be open minded to the scientific community, regardless of religious or non-religious viewpoints.
