Menopause: Smokers Have More Hot Flashes

woman smoking cigarette
A new study has found that those women who smoke during menopause are more subject to experience hot flashes. While many studies have looked at the effect of smoking on women facing menopause, this study focused its attention on hot flashes. The study also found that women with a certain gene variation linked to estrogen metabolism and susceptibility to environmental factors were experiencing more hot flashes than other women. The study has brought to light some very interesting data that will hopefully lead to more women kicking their smoking habits.
