Exposure To Diesel Exhaust Increases Risk of Death From Lung Cancer

Diesel engine exhaust increases the risk of lung cancer, even at low levels.

A study on coal miners has shown that exposure to levels of diesel exhaust present in many of the larger cities in the world dramatically increases both the risk of lung cancer and the risk of death of lung cancer after contracting the disease. Many miners in the 20th century were exposed to high levels of diesel exhaust due to diesel-powered mining equipment that was once used.
