A study shows that popcorn not only has low calories and high fiber but also full of antioxidants. They concluded that popcorn has two times more polyphenol than fruit does. Polyphenols help neutralize free radicals which helps decrease the risk of heart disease. This finding may suggest that popcorn is a better option compared to chips, cookies, etc. However the study also said that do not completely replace fruits in your diet for popcorn because fruits have other nutrients that popcorn doesnt have to offer.
