For a Healthy Aging Brain, 'Use It or Lose It'

Recently, our class has discussed how the body ages, various hypotheses for why the body ages, and the effects on the body by aging. Studies have shown that although memory decline is an inevitable side effect of aging, the rate and the degree of decline is somewhat manageable. Remaining physically and mentally active in one's later ages in life, will help stimulate brain function and slow the rate of memory declination. Burt Garrett has outlined his physically vigorous activities that he participates in his later years. He along with several other active elders find themselves functioning better in their later years, then as younger adults.
