Study Shows Child Obesity is Leveling or Declining
Recent national studies show that childhood obesity may be leveling off and even declining. States like Massachusetts saw a decrease of the rate of obesity in children between 2004-2008 while many other saw leveling of the rate. This current analysis included 36,827 youngsters who saw their physicians between 1999 and 2008. This being said, it was noted that both boys and girls declined in obesity were more significant for children who were insured by health plans other than Medicaid. Recent obesity prevention efforts encouraging parents to watch what they eat and their lifestyle habits may be helping this battle with childhood obesity.
