Researchers have been studying the effects that keeping secrets has on people. After keeping a secret or not, participants were asked to view a hill and determine it's steepness. Those keeping a secret viewed the hill as being steeper than those who did not have a secret. Other studies have found that people physically feel feel unwell and feel pressure on their body when they are keeping a secret. I have to wonder what kinds of physiological is going on when this "pressure" is being felt?
