A mummy has been found that was estimated to have died in his 20's from a rare, cancerlike disease that results in diabetes. It was determined he died from Hand-Schuller-Christian disease, where Langerhans cells rapidly multiplied. An MRI was even done on the mummy, which revealed severe damage done to the person's skeletal system. On top of being extremely painful, this cancer resulted in diabetes insipidus. Scientists still debated whether or not cancer existed during this time.
