Facebook may up eating disorder risk: study

In a new study, 51% of Facebook users feel more self conscious about their weight after seeing pictures of themselves on there. The amount of time spent on Facebook allows users to continuously see these pictures that trigger body issues and low self esteem. 37% of people studied said they felt the need to change specific parts of their body after seeing themselves compared to their friends. This can lead to spending more time focusing on the negative and creating obsessions about weight. The study sampled 600 American facebook users between ages 16 and 40. http://articles.nydailynews.com/2012-04-01/news/31271545_1_facebook-photos-body-image-health-in-real-life
