Less Than 6 Hours Of Sleep Can Impact Appetite Regulation And Increase BMI

I thought this article was very relevant to college students. Many college students do not get enough sleep, and we have all heard of the dreaded "Freshman 15." This recent study shows that there is a link between lack of sleep and obesity. A lack of sleep leads to appetite irregularity, which can lead to obesity. Not getting enough sleep can impact the body's ability to secrete the hormone ghrelin, which leads to increased apetite. College students should be careful to balance getting enough sleep and exercise in order to not gain that dreaded college weight.
