Why You Need to Take Asthma Medicine, Even If You Feel Fine

This article discusses the myth around steroid asthma medication.  Most people are lulled into a sense of security by not having an attack and consequently stop taking their medication.  This, though commonly perceived to be acceptable,  is not.  Asthma medication works as a slow build-up, the medicine has to be in your system for an extended period of time to build up a defense - that isn't possible if one only takes medication when they're around cats, pollen, or whatever else could set off an attack. http://www.health.com/health/condition-article/0,,20293551,00.html
