What Is Your Dog Thinking? Brain Scans Unleash Canine Secrets
Using functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), researchers have been able to look at the brain activity of a dog to determine how much they actually interpret from humans. In the tests they used two dogs and gave them different signals to represent different things, like one that meant they would receive a hot dog and one that meant they wouldn't. The article talks about how dogs have been around for thousands of years and may have even been a factor in helping humans evolve. A fun fact is that the idea for the dog project came to the scientist about a year ago, when he learned that a U.S. Navy dog had been a member of the SEAL team that killed Osama bin Laden.
