Unfortunately this means that when one is awake and active, the body may still believe that it is time to sleep. Leading to a lowered metabolic rate when one is awake and active. That means that when you are consuming your calories for the day, the body does not recognize that it is time to start burning them. However, if you can get your work and social schedules on the same sleep cycle, you have the ability to live a healthier life because your body will know when to go from resting to active mode.
