Pre-Term Births on the Rise



Premature births are the biggest cause of infant mortality worldwide and still, these deaths could be easily prevented. In high-income countries, they found that the causes of premature birth are thought to include mothers delaying childbirth to later ages, the growing treatments for fertility, and increase in obesity and diabetes. On the other hand, in lower income countries, infections such as malaria and HIV seem to be the culprit of the increase in premature labor.
