Outermost layer of skin cracked
A research team in Sweden has been able officially and accurately describe the function and structure of the outermost layer of skin at the molecular level. This part of the skin is called the stratum corneum and it is the water tight outer barrier. With their new understanding of this part of the skin, the research team is moving forward, hoping to develop a way to administer drugs through the skin by experimenting with it. This find is very significant for dermatologists especially.
