It was believed that all macrophages
were created from blood stem cells. This
was proven to be false. Some of the
macrophages were found in the yolk sac.
The yolk sac was created before the blood stem cells. This study focuses on why this happens and
the scientists run experiments on mice.
They found that the macrophages were indeed made with out stem
cells. Once the macrophages are formed
they migrate to the organs and stay there for the duration of pregnancy.
