Jobs that are bad for your lungs

This semester we learned about the respiratory system. With that in mind here are the ten worst jobs that are bad for your lungs.

1. construction-  inhaling dust in demolitions or renovations can increase risk for lung cancer, mesothelioma, and asbestosis which is a disease that  scars and stiffens lungs.
2. manufacturing- exposure to dust, chemicals, and gases can  increase risk for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
3. health care- mainly because of the use of latex gloves
4. textiles-Workers can inhale particles released from cotton or other materials which causes byssnosis,which is brown lung disease.
5.  bartending- only if you work in a bar that allows smoking
6. baking- asthma attacks caused by dough and its ingredients
7. automotive industry- people who body-spray cars can irritate  breathing, skin, and cause asthma attacks.
8. transportation- diesel exhaust increases chances of lung cancer
9. mining- constant dust exposure leads to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, black lung(caused by coal dust),and lung cancer
10. firefighting- inhaling smoke and numerous other chemicals can irritate respiratory system
