Infants Learn Race in First Year

It has been found that even though infants are born with the same exact abilities, their face recognition allows them to identify race at an extremely young age. They become so accustomed to the people and faces the spend their time with, that they end up being able to identify subtle differences in voice and laughter of different races. Babies in their first year of life develop specialized perceptual abilities, so they are more easily able to identify their family, and those that are familiar to them. These perceptual abilities are also linked to their abilities of learning languages.
