Enzyme may slow aging in astronauts
Shocking research has found that an enzyme called 5-lipoxygenase plays a key role in cell death when placed in a microgravity environment. Inhibiting this enzyme could lessen or prevent cell death and aging in astronauts that experience this. This may also be applied to the elderly on earth and such, using this new data to help bolster their immune system, helping them to live longer. Not only is this information useful and ground breaking, but it also will help us to have a better space program in the future to come.
