Dopamine Plays a Role in Work Ethic

Dopamine has been found to be responsible for a person's work ethic. Those whose ventromedial front cortex's (the reward center of the brain) release higher than normal amounts of dopamine are hard workers and "go-getters". Likewise, "slackers" have high dopamine levels in the anterior insula, which plays a role in emotion and risk perception, causing them to not try as hard.
