Cilia Cells in the Lungs



Researchers have found new cells that look like hair. The function of the cilia cell moves mucus out of the lungs to prevent infection. Under the microscope, the cilia cells magnifies at 7,000 times actual size. The gray surface of the embryonic cells sprouts hundreds of pink cilia that beat in one direction to push the fluids along.
