Using Human Corpses in Car Crash Testing

This story shows a major ethical dilemma, using human corpses as crash test dummies to improve car safety.  Three U.S. Universities conducted such tests with funding from the federal government, Ford, and GM.  Although it may, at first glance, seem like an unethical practice, it’s these tests that have significantly improved car safety, potentially saving countless human lives.
