U.S. Fast Food Saltier than other countries' fast food

A research has shown that fast food in America has higher levels of sodium than other countries' fast food if one ordered the same fast food items. They found that Chicken McNuggets in the U.S. had 2.5 times more salt than Chicken McNuggets in England. Scientists in this study believe that local suppliers and regulations are the reason that there is a disparity in fast food sodium levels between the U.S. and other countries. The U.K started regulating the amount of salt in food a few years ago while in the U.S. there is a struggle between preserving economic benefit and advocating for healthy foods. Unfortunately consumer taste isnt helping America becoming healthier.
