STD increase in Minnesota in 2011

This article shows that there has been an 8% increase in STDs in Minnesota during 2011. It does not talk about why these patterns are happening but it wants Minnesotans to make more of an effort to practice safe sex by regularly getting checked for STDs if they are sexually active. The 3 highest ranked STDs in 2011 were Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and Syphilis. African-Americans had a much higher risk of getting Chlamydia and Gonorrhea.
