Recently, a giant feathered dinosaur has been found. It is thought to be a distant cousin of the Tyrannosaurus Rex. It is now the largest feathered animal to be known to have existed. This new species has been named Yutyrannus huali, which is a combination of Latin and Mandarin to mean “beautiful feathered tyrant.” This 125 million year old fossil was found in northeastern China. Researchers estimate it would have been about 9 meters long and have weighed 1.5 tons.
