Researchers found that by reducing the levels of a certain protein, they could significantly increase the life of mice that were prematurely aged and/or with certain heart diseases. While this has obvious implications in disease prevention and life extension, it also may give a glimpse into whether or not aging is a process that can be physically controlled.
