Not Always Safety in Numbers When It Comes to Extinction Risk

A study at the University of Georgia has reveled that extinction may be more a complex concept than previously believed. They  analyzed more than 46,000 fossils from 52 sites. It was generally excepted that a more abundant species would survive an extinction event, but they discovered this wasn't always true. The article goes on to discuss the study in more depth and how global warming has the planet essentially in the midst of an extinction event currently.
