Not Always Safety in Numbers When It Comes to Extinction Risk

A study at the University of Georgia has reveled that extinction may be more a complex concept than previously believed. They  analyzed more than 46,000 fossils from 52 sites. It was generally excepted that a more abundant species would survive an extinction event, but they discovered this wasn't always true.
