New Muscular Dystrophy Treatment Approach Developed Using Human Stem Cells

Right here at the University of Minnesota the Lillehi Heart Institute has found an effective way to treat muscular dystrophy in mice.  The scientist used human stems cells.  They used a new process that makes the production of human muscles from stems cells.  This treatment has shown to be very effective.  From induced pluripotent cells the rapid development of skeletal myogenic progenitor cells has been accomplished.
