Have California schools cracked the code on obesity?

California has a strict school nutrition standards: ban on sodas, low calorie foods in the cafeteria are impacting what those kids eat. A study of 700 teens showed that Californians are consuming 158 fewer calories than others. Although they may sneak junk food at home and outside of school, 158 is still a large difference in public health. If children ate 64 fewer calories a day, the obesity rate would be 10% lower than what it was in the mid 2000s.
