Beetle-Fungus Disease Threatens Crops and Landscape Trees in Southern California

There is a fungus in Southern California that is damaging many trees. It is a new species of Furarium. It was discovered that an exotic beetle is what is transmitting it from tree to tree. The beetle and fungus have a symbiotic relationship. There was previously a similar case of "Avacado dieback" in Israel in 2009.
