Beehive Extract Demonstrates Potential to Treat Prostate Cancer

Researchers have found that caffeic acid phenethyl ester (CAPE), the resin used by honeybees to repair hives, stops growth of prostate cancer tumors and cells in mice. The resin was fed to mice with prostate cancer and it was found that the compound stopped tumor growth entirely. When they were no longer fed the resign, though, tumor growth continued as before.
