"How medicine is advancing beyond race"

http://www.cnn.com/2011/HEALTH/07/08/race.personalized.medicine/index.html

This article discusses the correlation between race, genetics and the controversies behind the two. With rich, intrenched and discriminatory history that defines these correlating subjects, this article challenges one to think beyond just the physical appearance of the socially structured idea of race and it's so-called correlation to one's genetic make-up. Essentially, there are theories that assume different ethnic make-ups (associated with different cultural groups), can inherit different levels of risk in terms of disease or health complication. Ultimately this article explores why these theories may in fact be wrong or controversial; genes may have less to do with our "racial" standing than we just so think.
