World's Tallest Man Stops Growing

This article talks about Sultan Kosen from Turkey, an 8' 3" man.  He has a tumor in his pituitary gland which caused excess production of human growth hormone.  When this hormone is produced before puberty, it can lead to gigantism. Sultan went to UVA to get a treatment to stop this growth. He was given a drug to help stop the production of the human growth hormone, in hopes that it would help Sultan stop growing.
