SAD: When Seasons Change How You Feel

I’m sure many of us can attest to felling down especially because of our unpredictable Minnesota weather. But perhaps you might be experiencing something more. In the United States, about 4% to 6% of the population may have seasonal affective disorder, but 10% to 20% might have milder winter blues. The condition tends to strike mainly women in their 20s, 30s and 40s, although men can also have it. Children and adolescents may also develop it, and it is less common in adults of older ages. Seasonal affective disorder can be expected in regions of the world that are farther away from the equator and thus experience seasonal changes in daylight hours more dramatically.
