Osteoporosis drug zaps malaria parasite in mice

A new drug might be able to fight malaria by being modified to allow penetration of red blood cells. Unlike similar drugs it readily crosses into the erythrocytes of malaria-infected mice and kills the malaria parasite while working at very low concentrations with no observable toxicity.
