Vioxx Information

Our class debate for this week (March 7) is on Vioxx. I did not know what Vioxx was and wanted to get some information on it before the debate, and I thought that others might be interested too. This article discusses the reasons that Vioxx was taken off of the market, such as a higher risk of cardiac events while taking the drug. The FDA did a study comparing Vioxx and a similar drug Celebrex which made them aware of the safety concerns related to this drug.This article seems to have been released very early in the Vioxx controversy before any lawsuits took place.
