Eating more white rice increases chances of diabetes.

A Harvard School of Public Health study shows that an increase intake of white rice can increase one's chances of getting type 2 diabetes. The reasoning behind this conclusion is that white rice, compared to brown rice, has lower amounts of fiber, magnesium, and vitamins which contribute to lowering the risk of getting type 2 diabetes. The study concluded that brown rice and whole grains are better alternatives for white rice because they have higher levels of fiber. I remember that my mom always preferred brown rice over white rice and I didn't really understand why because I liked the taste of white rice better compared to brown rice. Now I fully understand why my mom prefers brown rice now.
