Sinus Infections Don't Require Antibiotics

In the US, nearly one in seven people are diagnosed with sinus infections every year, over fifty million people. However, new evidence suggests that antibiotics are not the answer to your typical sinus infection, despite their over-prescription in the industry. Only about 2-10% of sinus infections are actually caused by bacteria, meaning nine in ten cases are simply a waste of medicine that nurtures the growth of antibiotic resistant cells. Thus, the overly prescribed drugs are merely hurting us in the long run while we gain nothing from them.
