This article discusses why ethically, society cares about the use of steroids. It looks to answer the question "steroids only affect me, so why does society care?". The article answers this question by referencing fairness. Using steroids breaks the unwritten contract of every sporting event, that the game will be fair. Its important to keep in mind however, that fair means that each player is playing with his or her un-enhanced abilities. Just because one player is naturally better than another doesn't mean that the lesser player should take steroids to "even the playing field". The article also points out that society tends to look the other way on some steroid use. As much as people don't like the idea of someone cheating to hit more home runs, chicks still dig the long ball.
